sliding door does not open completely on 2000 dodge caravan

Here is how i found out and solved my problem last week with the sliding doors not continuing to open.

This works for 2001 , 2002, 2003,2004,2005 and 2006 models:---

In some cases its the interlock for the gas cap is broken. These vans have a safety locking mechanism to prevent opening the driver's side door when the gas lid is open.
