My alternator went weak, then got completely bad and after i replaced alternator the heater/ cooled seat is not working?
Expert:---
When the alternator went bad you replaced the alternator, while replacing the alternator the battery gets disconnected, when battery gets disconnected more then 8 hours, then heater / cooled seat control module gets hanged.-------
Customer:-- Now what should i do?
Expert:---
You have access to a scan tool that can retreive codes from the climate control seat module?
You have most likely lost your programming(when battery went dead) to the Cimate control seat module or the Electronic temp control module . You will probably need to carry it to the dealer and have them perform a self test and see if it doesn't have a code B2477 stored in memory of the EATC ot the CCSM and if so they will have to reprogram one or both with As-Built Data.

where are those modules located?
Expert:---
The EATC is the heater/ac controls
The CCSM are located under each seat.
If both are inop then the EATC is the one that has most likely lost its programming. We see this sometimes when you loose the battery. The module looses it programming and it does not know (so to speak) that you have heated/cooled seats so they will not activate.
Customer:--
where can i find a picture of the under the seat module? do you have one?Expert:--
Yes i have:--
Here is a pic of the seat module
Customer:---
is it number 3? how much should this cost at the dealer? what do i need to say to them when i go there? I want to have my Blank checked to see if it lost its programming.

Expert:--
It will take just a few minutes to perform a self test and see if it has the B2477 code in either the EATC or the seat modules. It should not take but about 1hour to 1 1/2 to program them. The cost would depend on the labor rate per hour.

customer:--
I will get it checked by dealer and report, what they say:---
Expert:--
i will be waiting , report me in next 48 hour.
Customer:--
I am back, problem solved.--
Took it to the dealer and they reprogrammed the EATC and the functions came back. Service person told me that happens if the battery is dead for over 8 hrs.
--- Thank you expert.
Expert:--
Great, glad that it worked.
Customer:-- I appreciate your help. Also want to let you know that, dealer told me that.---- Ford has some issues with the heated seats on this year and model. Its going to need to be scanned by a ford ids scanner at a dealer. Either the module is bad or it will need to be reprogrammed. There is a technical service bulletin out for this concern that I have attached below.
--------------
I asked dealer :---Would there be a wiring diagram so I can see where the connectors are for the resistance checks?
----
For wiring's click this both links one by one:---

In my case reprogramming solved the issue. But dealer told, in some cases reprogramming does not help, and modules needs to be replaced.-------
I think i am lucky.---------
Expert:--
Yes you are lucky. And even i am lucky, that i got such a good customer, who gave me all the details, of how he got his problem solved and all the updates from dealer.I THANK YOU.
