Removal & Installation
- If equipped, remove the aftermarket air filter.
- If equipped, remove the mounting bracket for the removed cover.
- Disconnect the push-pin retainer from the motor mounting plate.
- Disconnect the connector.
- Remove the blower motor cover.
- Remove the three screws.
- Pry to release the three tabs.
- Remove the cover.WARNINGCarefully remove the blower motor to avoid damage to the wheel.
- Remove the three screws. Remove the blower motor.
- Remove the push clip. Remove the wheel.
- Remove the gasket.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Remove the RH lower instrument panel insulator.
- If equipped, remove the dealer installed air filter and brackets.
- Remove the passenger side scuff plate.
- Remove the passenger side kick panel.
- Position aside the weatherstrip.
- Remove the passenger side kick panel.
- Disconnect and detach the electrical connector.
- Position back the carpet.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the screws and remove the blower motor.
- Remove the clip. Remove the blower wheel.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Remove the RH lower A-pillar trim panel.
- Position aside the carpet below the blower motor.
- Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
- Remove the 3 blower motor screws.
- Remove the blower motor.
- Remove the blower motor wheel clip.
- Remove the blower motor wheel.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the vacuum pump (7.3L diesel engine).
- Remove the vacuum pump bolts (7.3L diesel engine).
- Disconnect the vacuum hose and remove the vacuum pump and mounting bracket (7.3L diesel engine).
- Disconnect the speed control servo connector (5.4L and 6.8L gasoline engines).
- Remove the bolts and remove the speed control servo (5.4L and 6.8L gasoline engines).
- Disconnect the blower motor connector.
- Remove the blower motor ventilation tube.NOTECarefully remove the blower motor so as not to damage the wheel.
- Remove the screws and remove the blower motor.NOTEIf the wheel is to be reused, clean the corrosion from the shaft end prior to removing the wheel.
- Remove the push clip. Remove the wheel from the blower motor.
- To install, follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
Vehicles with 6.0L Diesel:
- Remove the retainers and the insulator.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the vacuum pump.
- Remove the bolts.
- Disconnect the vacuum hose and remove the vacuum pump and mounting bracket.
Vehicles with 5.4L and 6.8L:
All vehicles:
- Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
- Remove the blower motor ventilation tube.
- Remove the screws and remove the blower motor.NOTEIf the wheel is to be reused, clean the corrosion from the shaft end prior to removing the wheel.
- Remove the wheel from the blower motor.
- Remove the push clip.
- Remove the wheel from the blower motor.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Remove the center console ducts.
- Remove the three nuts. Remove the blower motor from the bottom of the console.
- Disconnect the harness connectors.
- Disconnect the connector. Remove the bolts. Remove the resistor.
- Remove the five screws. Remove the lower duct cover.
- Remove the three bolts. Remove the upper duct cover.
- Remove the two bolts. Disconnect the connector. Remove the blower motor.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Remove the RH lower instrument panel insulator.
- If equipped, remove the dealer installed air filter and brackets.
- Remove the passenger side scuff plate.
- Remove the passenger side kick panel.
- Position aside the weatherstrip.
- Remove the passenger side kick panel.
- Disconnect and detach the electrical connector.
- Position back the carpet.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the screws and remove the blower motor.
- Remove the clip. Remove the blower wheel.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
