First of all, the thermostat is located on the hose housing at the rear of the engine at the water pump.Its not very difficult to replace the thermostat.
The procedure is as follows :---

Thermostat Service and Repair, Procedures: Thermostat Replacement
Removal Procedure
1.Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain and recover the coolant.
3. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield.
4. Remove the coolant inlet housing bolts through the exhaust manifold.
5. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
6. Remove the coolant inlet housing stud from the oil pan. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
8. Remove the splash shield.
9. Remove the bolts from the transaxle-to-engine block brace. Remove the brace.
10. Remove the coolant housing pipe.
11. Remove the thermostat.
12. Clean the mating surfaces.
Installation Procedure1. Install the thermostat.
2. Install the coolant housing pipe.
3. Install the transaxle-to-engine block brace and secure with the bolts.
4. Install the splash shield.
5. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
6. Install the gasket.
7. Install the coolant inlet housing stud to the oil pan.
^ Tighten the bolt to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.).
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Install the coolant inlet housing bolts through the exhaust manifold.
^ Tighten the bolt to 14 Nm (124 inch lbs.).
10. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
11. Fill the cooling system.
12. Connect the negative battery cable.
^ Tighten the bolt to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).
13. Inspect the system for leaks.
