Growling noise at slow speeds when applying brake. This is clear indication to inspect brake pads. This pads gets worn out and this makes noise.
There are a lot of different type brake pads that can be installed on your vehicle , I suspect they put a "harder compound " pad on your car that may have more semi - metallic composition. You can drive it for awhile to see if the noise goes down.
But if same noise is heard after replacing brake pads then, other brake related components needs inspection.Like brake fluid, brake caliper, brake disc, roots. But in most of cases, this problem is due to brake pads getting worn out.
Replacing brake pads helps.
