- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
- Remove the engine cover.
- Remove the air filter housing and intake tube.
- Detach the components from the cylinder head covers; this includes the vacuum hoses, crankcase ventilation hose, transmission dipstick tube and ignition coils.
- Remove the bolts securing the covers, then remove them from the engine.
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the cylinder head cover bolts to 71 inch lbs. (8 Nm) on M112 engines and 7 ft. lbs. (10 Nm) on M113 engines. Be sure to use a new gasket
