- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the steering wheel cover lower No.2 and 3.
- Place the front wheels facing straight ahead.
- Using a T30 Torx® wrench, loosen the 2 screws until the groove along the screw circumference catches on the screw case.
- Pull out the air bag assembly from the steering wheel, support the horn button with one hand and disconnect the wiring harness.
- Remove the air bag assembly.
- Remove the nut and put matchmarks on the steering wheel and the steering main shaft.
- Using SST 09950-50013 or equivalent, remove the steering wheel.
To install:
- Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel and the steering main shaft.
- Install the steering wheel assembly with the set nut and tighten to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs)
- Support the air bag with one hand and connect the wiring harness.
- Confirm that the circumference groove of the Torx screw fits in the screw case, and place the air bag onto the steering wheel.
- Using a T30 Torx® wrench, tighten the 2 screws to 8.8 Nm (78 in. lbs)
- Connect battery negative terminal.
