The procedure here covers following Engine models :----
3.7L, 4.7L & 5.7L Engines.
The details are as follows:----
- Drain the engine oil.
- Attach an engine crane.
- Loosen, but don-t remove, the left and right mount through-bolts.
- Remove or disconnect the following:
Negative battery cableStructural coverFront crossmember - Raise the engine just enough for clearance.
- Remove or disconnect the following:
NOTEDon-t pry on the pan. The gasket is integral with the windage tray, and doesn-t come out with the pan.
NOTEThe double ended studs must be installed in their original locations.
Pan bolts and studsPan
To install:
- Install or connect the following:
Oil pan gasketOil pan. Tighten the bolts, in sequence, to 105 inch lbs. (12 Nm).Front crossmemberStructural coverNegative battery cable - Fill the crankcase to the proper level with engine oil.
- Start the engine and check for leaks.
